Bethany and Leah, or as they are more formally referred to as, The Paranormal Putas so generously invited me to be a surprise guest at their final installment of Haunt Summer Nights at We Luv Video!
They put on an amazing presentation on Lechuzas and extended the invitation for me to support their program by way of storytelling and the Susto experience. In true Virgo rising fashion, I showed up with my own speaker and lights to really set the mood and tell the story of another shape-shifting bird baddie, the Tlahuelpuchi.
This has been the story I've relied on for almost all of my live events. I think the story and the way I discuss it with audiences is the perfect example of what I strive for Susto to be. I was also lucky enough to snag a physical copy of Bloodsucking Witchcraft: An Epistemological Study of Anthropomorphic Supernaturalism in Rural Tlaxcala. A very dense and extremely insightful read! Overall, The Putas put on an amazing program and everyone had a blast. Someone got jump-scared and a dog wandered in, in the middle of my story. Photos taken by Jeff (he's been promoted from henchman) of the evening to soothe any FOMO.
